This week Verena is joined by Anita Kerwin-Nye, Director of Strategy and Engagement at YHA.
Anita is passionate about calling out inequality and has had an interesting and varied portfolio career in the charity and education sectors, moving effortlessly between consultancy and senior leadership roles.
In this episode, she shares her expert advice on going freelance and charging what you're worth, as well as her best tips on how to lead authentically, particularly in the charity sector.
There's a frank and interesting discussion on the impact of class on career progression, including advice on being authentic and challenging prejudices in the workplace and why diversity and inclusion in leadership really matters.
She also draws on her own experience bringing up 4 children alongside her leadership career, with particular focus on the practicalities of bringing up children with significant learning difficulties, offering insight for other parents doing the same.
