“Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.”- 1 John 3:18

It’s one thing to say that we love and care for the poor. It’s an another thing for us to share our hard earned money generously and sacrificially. It’s another thing to advocate for policies that may benefit others without directly benefiting ourselves. 

It’s one thing for us to say that we care for the marginalized and ostracized. It’s another thing for us to risk the same for ourselves by speaking up for them, by showing up for them. 

It’s one thing for us to say that we’d like things be different in the world, to say we want more justice, equity, and equality not only for ourselves but others. It’s another thing for us to work towards that world. 

May our actions match our words. May we always be willing to put in the work.
