“He removes every branch in me that bears no fruit. Every branch that bears fruit he prunes to make it bear more fruit.” - John 15:2
I don’t know much about gardening or growing plants. But gardeners from time to time find it helpful to prune, to cut off or cut back parts of a plant in order to give it better shape or to promote more fruitful growth.
Are there things in our lives that need to be cut back or eliminated? Are there things that are sucking up our time and energy that keeping us from being our best selves personally or professionally?
Perhaps it is an unhealthy or toxic relationship or friendship- one in which we will never be the best version of ourselves if we remain where we are.
Perhaps it is a habit or activity that is not wrong in and of itself, but just isn’t good for us at this time and place in our lives. Or we are giving it more time and attention than we should.
Being intentional about the things we prune from our lives allows us to grow.
I’m Horace McMillon. This is 60 Seconds of Hope. Peace be with you.
