“The key is to make the change so sudden that you experience a complete change of heart.” - Marie Kondo
In reading Ms. Kondo’s quote, I immediately thought about Andrew and Simon (Peter). When Jesus invited them to join him in his mission. the text says, “At once they left their nets and followed him.” - Matthew 4:20
Change is hard. Change is disruptive. Change can be a little bit scary. But change is also necessary if we want to become the fullest version of ourselves. Change is necessary in order for us to make our greatest contribution.
When we are uncertain about our path, it’s appropriate to pause, to take time for clarity and discernment. But as soon as we know, we need not wait. We need to make the change immediately.
Simon and Andrew saw something special in Jesus and his mission. They didn’t know exactly what it would entail. They knew they wanted to be a part of it and didn’t wait to get started. They helped Jesus change the world.
I’m Horace McMillon. This is 60 Seconds of Hope. Peace be with you.
