A Curious and Frustrating Day at the Supreme Court
The Supreme Court turned away two Second Amendment-related cases on Monday, rejecting cert petitions challenging Maryland's ban on "assault weapons" and New York City's "good moral character" requirement for possessing rifles and shotguns in the home. But the Court took no action on several cert requests challenging Illinois' ban on so-called assault weapons and large capacity magazines, giving 2A supporters a little hope that SCOTUS will still weigh in on a semi-auto ban in the months ahead.
