This week, I am thrilled to welcome Stef Sword Williams into my kitchen. She is the founder of the remarkable book "F*ck Being Humble," where she advocates for the importance of effective self-promotion and challenges the notion that modesty is always the best policy.
In the UK, we are known for self-deprecating, often downplaying our successes and mocking our achievements. This mindset isn't healthy! We tend to believe that we can only celebrate ourselves when others do so first, and that putting ourselves down will make others feel better. However, to reach our goals and be recognised, we need to learn how to self-promote.
Stef Sword Williams launched "F*ck Being Humble" in 2018 out of frustration with the conventional approach to self-development and the missed opportunities that came from not speaking up.
I remember attending an event where Stef spoke about self-development, and I thought, "I have to get her on the podcast." And now, here we are!
