There’s no debate that Philadelphians have an accent. Even within the city, the words and phrases you hear can sound different from neighborhood to neighborhood. We’re revisiting a conversation from earlier this year between host Trenae Nuri and comedian and writer Alan Massenburg, who grew up in West Philly, about these regional differences and what turns of phrase let you know someone is really from Philly.
Check out Alan’s comedy album, We Got Action.
We’re doing our annual survey to learn more about our listeners. We’d be grateful if you took the survey at citycast.fm/survey—it’s only 7 minutes long. You’ll be doing us a big favor. Plus, anyone who takes the survey will be eligible to win a $250 Visa gift card–and City Cast Philly swag.
