In this episode, as Syed Mohammad Ali explains, India, the world’s largest democracy, which traditionally maintained a non-aligned stance, should be a natural partner. The U.S. has pursued a closer relationship with India since the Clinton administration, and for good reason. This is especially true as great-power competition grows and Washington seeks to counter Beijing in the Indo-Pacific. For the United States, it will be no partner at all.
