Felix joins Will and Hesse to look at two films from director Mamoru Oshii, Angel’s Egg (1985) & Patlabor 2 (1993). Both films explore Oshii’s fascination with navigating simulated and detached realities, with Angel’s Egg offering a mysterious dystopia laden with religious and symbolism and allegories for birth, and Patlabor 2 addressing suppressed emotions around Japan’s political situation in the 90’s.
