Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Allah ﷻ Says in the Holy Quran: Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem,
وَالۡعَصۡرِۙ
(103:1) By Time!
اِنَّ الۡاِنۡسَانَ لَفِىۡ خُسۡرٍۙ
(103:2) Lo! Man is in a state of loss;
(103:3) save those who have faith and do righteous deeds, and counsel each other to hold on to truth and counsel each other to be steadfast [in the path of Truth and worship].
In the time of Jahiliyyatul ‘Ula, the first Period of Ignorance, though people were astray from submission to the One God, their lives were centralised around temples and godliness.
Today we are living far below such levels of foolishness, in the second Period of Ignorance, Jahiliyah Al-thani. Mawlana said that this second wave of ignorance is far worst than the first because now, people’s lives are centralised on secularism, denying and defying all divine authority. Belief is at its weakest.
Only fools would trade an eternity of ownership of palaces with unfathomable regal luxuries, for an hour’s worth of owning a dilapidated shack. Sadly, such is the state of most people today, trading eternal life for the depreciating short life on earth.
Allah ﷻ is Offering an eternity of precious, priceless inheritance, but many are forsaking palaces for a temporary run-down shack!
In these days of ignorance, most of mankind no longer understand the value of time they are given, hence, they use it to pursue frivolous activities of no value to Allah ﷻ.
Mawlanaق has advised us to divide the short time we have wisely, planning our day around worship and finding a balance until a regular pattern to the day is formed. Good habits take effort to build.
Having discipline in everything is a virtue of a believer.
Heق said that the very purpose of our existence is to worship. Hence, those who are constantly remembering Allah ﷻ with every breath and heartbeat, are always in worshipping, even though engaged in daily activities of work, school and spending time with others.
We cannot run from death, so wise ones run to Allah ﷻ. (Fafirru ilallah).
Tariqah is training us to convert our depreciating worldly activities into appreciating, valuable work pleasing to Allah ﷻ with the simple act of zikrullah, remembrance of Allah ﷻ, the fuel needed to build on our afterlife.
Only then will we reach the purpose of our existence, to be constantly in worship to Allah ﷻ. How much of a day are we giving to this honourable purpose?
We work eagerly to elevate our worldly status and livelihood but how are we progressing towards Eternity?
Starting with a good intention is key.
Remember that this journey towards tasting sweetness of servanthood to Allah ﷻ comes to those who yearn to be in constant remembrance of Him ﷻ, and not to the lazy.
The aspiring mureed seeks progress in this Way and strives to set aside the little time needed to complete the daily practices and devotions, watering the seed of every Sohbah until it bears sweet fruit.
May Allah ﷻ grant us awareness of time, understanding of the value of time and may we be those foremost in completing our daily duties until we attain servanthood to Allah ﷻ.
