Develop a Mountain Mindset
“All battles are first won or lost, in the mind”-Joan of Arc (via Monique McMillon)
One of the saddest stories in the Bible? The people of Israel had been liberated from 400 years of slavery, endured a trip through the wilderness, and were on the verge of entering the place God had for them. But they turned back because they saw themselves as grasshoppers unable to confront the challenges in front of them.
They lost the battle they didn’t fight because they were too scared. As a result they spent another forty years wandering the desert. A whole generation died without ever experiencing what they could have had- the literal fulfillment of their hopes and dreams.
Only two from that first batch of folk crossed over. One of them was Caleb, now 85 years old. He requested the hardest assignment because he believed in his ability and in God’s ability to see him through.
“Now therefore give me this mountain…”, he declared. (Joshua 14) Caleb succeeded where others were too afraid because he had a mountain mindset.
I’m Horace McMillon. This is 60 Seconds of Hope. Peace be with you.
