At the heart of this transformative strategy is the Instructional Design Specialist, a role that is currently sought on a contract basis for project-driven tasks. The primary objective for the specialist is to craft engaging, learner-centric educational materials and programs. Reporting to the Director of Learning and Development, the specialist will focus on generating high-quality content that encompasses sales, management, and human resources programs, including vital onboarding processes for new team members joining the Elevate K-12 community.
The ideal candidate for this pivotal role will possess a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s degree being preferable, in relevant fields such as Education, Instructional Design or Technology, or Adult Learning Theory. One to two years of experience in instructional design within a corporate context is a prerequisite. An adept understanding of both instructor-led and digital learning strategies is essential. The Instructional Design Specialist will need to exhibit an exceptional ability to juggle multiple projects, adapt to a dynamic and evolving environment, and determine priorities with precision.
Technical fluency in digital learning tools is also critical, with particular emphasis on proficiency with the Articulate 360 suite, notably Storyline and Rise, for the development of robust eLearning content. Expertise with Vyond's animation toolset and audio/video editing and publishing skills are highly desirable. A portfolio or samples of previous work are required to demonstrate capability and experience.
As for the contractual engagement, project durations will vary, with an estimated average of up to twenty hours per week, and compensation ranging between forty to fifty dollars per hour. It is important to note that this role is as an independent contractor under a 1099 status, meaning the specialist will partner with Elevate K-12 but will not be an employee of the company. Consequently, no benefits or tax withholdings on payments will be provided.
