What speaks to your heart?
“Keep only things that speak to your heart. Then take the plunge and discard all the rest.” - Marie Kondo
We live in a world of limitless possibilities. There are more things to do than we have time or energy to pursue. It’s important that we become highly intentional about what we keep in our physical and mental spaces, highly intentional about how we spend our time, effort and energy.
Only partially in jest, I’ve spoken about writing an essay entitled, “Never Make Your Bed”. Many of us have been taught that it’s one of the first things you should do every day. It’s important to many, but not to me. As I reflected on it, five minutes a day equals 30 hours per year. I don’t want to spend any hours making my bed. I don’t do it.
Our time effort and energy are among our greatest treasures. “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Matthew 6:21). Let’s be very intentional about how we use them.
I’m Horace McMillon. This is 60 Seconds of Hope. Peace be with you.
