A new law prohibiting companies from hiring so-called "scabs" - or replacement workers - during a strike was passed in Ottawa this week. Bill C-58 had unanimous support in the House and passed in the Senate without amendment. The bill aims to protect workers' rights by banning replacement workers during a strike for all FEDERALLY-governed workplaces.
