In today’s episode I talk to Sara Williams.
Sara is the CEO of the charity KidsOut which provides positive experiences for some of the UK’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged children.
Sara's career took off in 1997 as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
For 15 years she guided Gerard Gamble Group through a variety of business ventures and strategic acquisitions.
Also In 1999, Sara led a pivotal management buyout at Apollo Metals, creating Metalweb, a £35m business.
Now as as CEO of KidsOut UK, she’s dedicated to supporting vulnerable children, building on her deep commitment and prior involvement as a trustee and committee member.
Sara is deeply committed to advancing the KidsOut's mission of providing comprehensive wellbeing support, transformative educational initiatives, and joy filled experiences for every child in need and together with her dedicated team, she aspires to instil hope and resilience in the hearts of the children, equipping them with the tools and resources necessary to overcome adversity.
Sara’s blend of strategic acumen and passion for social responsibility, shapes a brighter future for children in need.
We talk about the real need for children and teenagers to be able to have the best start in life regardless of their upbringing and circumstances and how this can be best achieved, even though the challenges seem impossible to conquer at times. Everyone’s childhood experiences follow them throughout their life and shape their future, even more so when there isn’t the basic care and support in order to have the best chances to develop and reach their true potential. An eye opening episode that shares the plight of many young people of today.
