This morning we discuss Israeli resilience as described by Dan Senor and Saul Singer (co-authors of "Start-Up Nation") in a new essay on Sapir Journal. They portray the humour Israelis expressed as Iranian missiles were streaking toward them. They show how many Israelis build their resilience muscles from a young age where society rewards them for working as a group, and living a life of service. But we must always keep in mind, resilience from what? I share the presentation of our guest speaker at ADATH yesterday, her heartbreaking, heart-numbing experiences on October 7, to more fully grasp the horror, savagery, and shock Israelis experienced that day, in order to grasp the staggering enormity of the resilience they now display.
