Have you been catfished? Lawd, I’m not even sure what that means, but when I think of a catfish, I see a big, ugly, opportunistic bottom dweller with spiky whiskers. It’s not much different with people who use “catfishing” to lure and deceive someone.
It’s ugly enough when a stranger puts on a false persona, but what if it’s your own mother?!
That’s what happened to a 15-year-old girl in Michigan who was bullied so badly online and on her phone that her school and the FBI got involved. Instead of discovering that a character crushing stranger was tormenting the teen, the investigation hooked her momma on the other end of the line.
Dive in with us into the murky waters of duping others, in the latest episode of the Gulf Coast Confidential podcast, “Kendra Licari: the Motha of all Catfish!”
