Interview with a Ukrainian War Refugee, Mother and Counselor
Host Timothy Regan welcomes Alina Samko to a live interview. Alina is a mother and a counselor from Kyiv, and she shares her story of fear and flight from that city under Russian invasion early in the Ukraine war. We explore her traumatic experience, and what has helped her recover her resiliency and protect her child through the refugee experience in 3 countries.
Throughout our conversation, Timothy works to demonstrate the active empathic listening that we practice from the lessons of Nonviolent Communicaton that we practice here at Talk It Out Radio.
We are deeply grateful for Alina’s generosity and courage in sharing her story openly for the purpose of compassion and understanding of the war refugee experience.
