The Miami Hurricanes have just landed a verbal commitment from four star linebacker Gavin Nix. The Class of 2025 IMG Academy standout chose Miami over FSU and Oregon. Nix referred to his Hurricanes official visit in June as a game-changer after he really connected with linebackers coach Derek Nicholson. Nix was the defensive captain at IMG last season and is regarded as being physically mature enough to get on the field as a freshman.
Host Alex Donno reacts to the Nix commitment and offers scouting reports from recruiting experts Brian Smith and Larry Blustein. The Hurricanes just moved up from the 15th ranked class in America to top 15 for 2025. Donno wonders if Miami can get good news soon from four star safety Hylton “Drake” Stubbs, four star IOL Seuseu “SJ” Alofaituli and 2026 quarterback Dereon Coleman. Stubbs and Coleman will both be making announcements later this week.
