This morning we discuss a novel approach to why Moshe is not allowed to enter the Land of Israel, not based on hitting the rock, not based on what he said to criticize to the people, but based on the order of what he said to the people. This insight is from Rabbi Elazer Shach, and is demonstrated by stories from Don Knauss and Margaret Mead. Michael Whitman is the senior rabbi of ADATH Congregation in Hampstead, Quebec, and an adjunct professor at McGill University Faculty of Law. ADATH is a modern orthodox synagogue community in suburban Montreal, providing Judaism for the next generation.
