#133 | Kelly Hu | Moving to California to pursue acting & representing Hawai'i

Kelly Hu is an actress from the island of O’ahu. She is a former fashion model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss Teen USA in 1985 becoming the pageant’s third titleholder in history and its first Asian American winner. She then won Miss Hawai’i USA in 1993 becoming the first former Miss Teen USA to win a Miss USA state title. As an actress she starred in numerous films including The Scorpion King, Cradle 2 The Grave, X2, Finding ‘Ohana, and TV shows like The Vampire Diaries, the CW series Arrow, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Disney Channel’s animated series Phineas and Ferb, and currently BMF on Starz. Kelly also co-hosts a podcast called Shoes Off Inside, a show that rattles cages and dismantles tired old stereotypes about race, age, sex and culture.
