36 Angela Alexander: How Love Letters from Her Departed Sons Gave Her a Renewed & Unshakeable Faith

While on military duty in Japan, mother and wife Angela Alexander got the most jarring news imaginable: her entire family was involved in a horrific car crash. A driver had crossed the highway median and hit them head on, sending them over the railing and falling 25 feet onto 2 parked cars below. All Angela could do from an ocean away was be still and trust in God.

By some miracle, her husband Suri and two daughters Angela and Angelina survived, and were going to be okay. Tragically, her 2 sons Murice and Roger were killed instantly on impact. Reeling from shock and grief, Angela believed she heard from her boys, telling her that they had made it to Heaven, and were now with Jesus. In that moment, she felt the overwhelming presence and peace of God, despite her world instantaneously turning upside down.

Unbelievably, one of Angela’s sons, Murice, had written letters of love to her and her husband one month before that fateful car accident… almost as if he supernaturally knew his earthly time was short. For Angela, little did she know at the time that these letters would help her navigate her grief when she needed it most.

Angela documented her story in her book entitled, “Miracles in Action” which was adapted into a full length film of the same name. She also wrote a children’s version of “Miracles in Action” to help children understand and process grief. Now retired from the Air Force, Angela has answered God’s call to help other grieving parents to survive the loss of a child.
