Stargazers could soon be flocking to a far corner of the deep south with plans to create Aotearoa's next Dark Sky Reserve. The Catlins - at the bottom of the South Island's southeast coast - has seen a big uptick in visitors wanting to experience and take photos of the aurora lights. That's spurred local group - Owaka Going Forward - to seek Council support in joining six other areas across the country, to secure international dark sky accrediation.
