Live From IMS! Colts Training Camp Preview + 2 Minute Drill!
(00:00-28:49) – Query & Company opens on a Friday with Jake Query and Jimmy Cook live from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway ahead of Sunday’s Brickyard 400! They open the show by thanking everyone for coming out to the Back 9 event yesterday, the importance of NASCAR returning to the oval this weekend, provide an update on how things are going at The Open for show favorite, Santiago de la Fuente, and start previewing Colts training camp.
(28:49-39:20) – Jake and Jimmy continue their NFL conversation from the tail end of last segment by discussing which teams could flop that people are selecting as a trendy team like the Jacksonville Jaguas last season. Some candidates include the Green Bay Packers, Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns, and others.
(39:20-44:23) – Hour one concludes with Jake and Jimmy sharing which team they believe will break through this season like the Detroit Lions and Houston Texans did a season ago.
(44:23-1:08:14) – Hour number two from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway with Jake Query and Jimmy Cook starts with Jake asking Jimmy to explain the Microsoft outage that is currently going on because he doesn’t fully understand what’s going on. Then, Jake asks Jimmy what the second biggest storyline for the Indianapolis Colts in training camp is. It leads to a larger discussion about the tight end room. Finally, they bring back the 2-Minute Drill featuring WLWT’s Charlie Clifford in Cincinnati to preview Bengals training camp and the second half of the season for the Reds. Also, DetroitLions.com’s Tim Twentyman joins to highlight some of the things the Lions must work on during camp before the season starts.
(1:08:14-1:26:28) – John Oreovicz joins Query & Company to highlight the first Brickyard 400 from 30 years ago with NASCAR back on the oval this weekend, compares how different the NASCAR stock cars are this year compared to the last time that racing fans watched them on the oval at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and states that the NASCAR doesn’t need the Brickyard 400 to reach the peak levels of fan attendance like it did back in the early stages.
(1:26:28-1:29:00) – Jake and Jimmy close out the second hour of the program by pointing out the snacks that Kurt Darling has inhaled in the media center during their show at IMS.
(1:29:00-1:56:36) – Kevin Bowen from the Wake-Up Call with KB & Andy joins Jake Query and Jimmy Cook to begin the final hour of the show to weigh in on the tight end debate from earlier in the show, shares what he believes will be different when it comes to schemes with Anthony Richardson quarterbacking the Colts this season, believes that Jonathan Taylor could lead the league in carries if he remains healthy for the entire season considering the situation he’s in, and states that he wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t add a veteran running back when rosters start being trimmed down to 53.
(1:56:36-2:05:59) – As we do every Friday on Query & Company, Jake shares a Good For The Heart story that is sponsored by Franciscan Health by sharing a story about a 13-year-old boy that is having his 9th Lemonade Stand & Bake Raffle next weekend. His mother joins the show to tell his story and how they started this event that sends all the money raised to a good cause!
(2:05:59-2:11:47) – Today’s show ends with Jimmy sharing his JCook Plays of the Day and Jake cracking the code behind Kurt Darling’s munchies. Plus, they preview their weekends!
