Making a positive impact through servitude With Molly Stillman
Molly Stillman is a writer, blogger, wife, mom, and podcaster. She describes her life as a continuous act of trying to make as much positive impact as she can from her own little space.
Molly’s blogging success
Molly started her online blogging journey way back when she was in college, a time when not so many people were familiar with online journaling and blogging.
Having majored in Creative Writing whilst in College, this went a long way in helping Molly stay consistent and better on her online writing hobby.
When she graduated in 2007, Molly decided to take her blogging a notch higher and made a switch from Journal blogging to live WordPress blogging.
Looking back at how she’s grown and transformed over the years, Molly owes a lot of it to her first 2-3 years outside of college. It was during this period that she started experiencing the real outside world from a whole new set of lenses; and as she kept writing about these new experiences, her following kept growing.
In 2012 Molly decided to rebrand and commercialize her blog.
Writing a consistent 5-6 posts a week, Molly was not only grateful for the big following she had begun to amas but also made the big decision of fully focusing on Blogging as her job in 2014.
About her niche. And podcasting.
Molly writes about purchasing ethical training in the Fashion industry.
She’s focused on helping individuals use their purchasing power as clients to make a positive impact.
So it was a no-brainer in focusing her podcast theme on the same theme when she started her podcast in 2016.
Business with purpose is a podcast where Molly interviews companies, and individuals who are impacting the world in a positive way.
She talks about the various stakeholders that these companies and individuals are working with, and how they’ve all decided to put their personal interests aside in order to serve the greater good.
230+ episodes down the line and Molly is more than enjoying her experience with providing a platform to share these wonderful stories.
Through the podcasts, Molly is trying to change the current societal culture and mainstream belief system of putting yourself first, and looking out for yourself before anyone or anything else.
Molly is trying to show how serving the community and placing yourself after others is a way to not only lead a grateful and happy life but a way of attracting good and luck into your life too.
Growing her blog and podcast.
Molly has sacrificed her time and focus to ensure the slow and steady growth of her show. She’s said no to ‘Gaming the system’ schemes of trying to amass a big following which isn’t genuine or specific to her niche.
This has indeed paid off, as Molly recently did a survey, through which she found out that she has readers who have been following her content for more than 6 years!
They’ve become a sort of online family, that has been with her throughout every major step of her adult life; from when she got engaged, married, pregnant, lost her pregnancy and prospering in her career.
She’s also had the honour of hosting a diverse range of professionals on her podcasts, all of whom are in unique careers, but in a way, still, find a way to make a positive impact.
Because at the end of the day, it really doesn't matter the industry or job that you do, what really matters is how you decided to frame and look at it. You can choose to see it as any other job, or you can see it as an opportunity to serve people and make a positive impact.
Molly’s superpower.
Integrity. Molly highly values integrity in not just herself, but also in her close friends and family.
She’s been committed to sharing nothing but honest and transparent stories through her blog.
Molly is also a good discerner. She has the superpower of making the right decisions when faced with the pressure to pick a path in business, or in life generally.
