The Fit Parent Podcast with Jeff Dalzell
Health & Fitness:Fitness
On today’s episode, we are talking about how to zoom out on our progress and celebrate our wins.
We go into depth on:
The importance of recognizing wins, no matter how small they may feel
How to determine your baseline and raise your floor
How to measure relative results vs. objective results
Why we can’t put too much stock into the number on the scale
Why we have to separate reasons from excuses
It can be discouraging when you see a lower number on the scale but it bounces back up the next day. Or you set a personal record at the gym but can’t get back to it the next week. However, our lows don’t lie to us. We can’t discount our wins. Our “worst” this week very well could have been the best we could do 6 months ago. We have to celebrate our wins no matter how small they may feel because getting even 1% better every day is what is going to carry us over the finish line.
