So, I am mixing things up and doing a solo show!
Recently my husband and I watched a movie produced by Ron Howard called Hillbilly Elegy, a very honest memoir about JD Vance.
I promise this is not a political show, and it doesn’t matter which side of the aisle you sit in politics.
This movie is about living the American dream when all the odds are against you. It’s a must-see, and I believe our kids should watch it.
Here are a couple of points I took away from the movie:
I often hear from people I work with that they feel they have no option but to stay in a job or a relationship that doesn’t make them shine or feel alive. Because they have a mortgage, rent, kids, college, and the list goes on as to why they can’t make a change.
By not making a choice, you are choosing not to act, but it is a choice, just the same.
Our ego and reptilian brain try to keep us safe, but to what end? I challenge you to watch the movie and see how Ron Howard shows the pivotal moments of change and choice through JD’s reflections and memories of the past.
