26: DR. ELKIE BURNSIDE: Create Collaboration with Storytelling
In this episode, we're talking with Dr. Elkie Burnside. Dr. Elkie (she/they) is a queer, digital open-access advocate who has been teaching and training for 23+ years in a variety of environments ranging from K-12 (international and US based) schools, undergraduate and graduate higher education (focusing on multimodal composing, professional communication, and rhetoric), as well as providing professional training and consulting for a variety of communication specializations (technical and science writing are among the top areas). Their most recent transition from full time academic work to supporting online instructional development at a non-profit education services agency (Collaborative for Educational Services) continues to blend together her interests in creating quality online learning opportunities and considering marginalized perspectives in education. She is an avid world traveler, burgeoning cook and food lover, and also finds time to read, play video games, and create (knitting, cross stitching, and quilting are the tops right now).
