Changes Coming for Harley-Davidson, Southwest Airlines and More Business Headlines

More into the minutia of Harley’s 2nd quarter reports that were announced during the homecoming Southwest has listened to customers and will go back to their old seating procedures. More airline news: JetBlue will suspend their service between Milwaukee and Boston and a new Dunkin Donuts is coming to Mitchell International. Kohl’s is mandating a return to the office and setting up new dress shops in Southeastern Wisconsin to attract customers. Jeff thinks it might work based on his experience with Sephora and his daughter. Commuter rail in Wisconsin beyond Kenosha is being studied in Southeastern Wisconsin and Rich emphasizes the need for studying to know what existing tracks can be used to expand travel for both Amtrak and commuter rail. Rail expansion to Green Bay is also under consideration and was even addressed by Packers President Mark Murphy which could help with the NFL Draft next year. An old book store on Downer near the UWM campus is now a video game store and a new Valentine coffee shop is opening right next door. One of the Bucks co owners is part of a private equity form that just bought Red Lobster but it may not save the chain. Predictions in the Milwaukee Business World: Rich says layoffs and job openings have cooled off and may continue and the Brewers will make the playoffs. Jeff thinks the People’s Flag of Milwaukee will be official.
