This week on the Any Given Runday Podcast, we welcome accomplished triathlete and aeronautical engineer Mary O'Donnell as we discuss her transition from competitive swimming to triathlons, her resilience in overcoming an eating disorder, and her accolades, including age group victories in Ironman Cork and TriAthy Olympic, a podium finish in the Triathlon Ireland National Series, and doing TWO 70.3 Ironman events in the space of a week!
Mary discusses her thesis on the aerodynamics of bike fitting, which eventually led to her working with Ku Cycle Engineering and contributing to the design of high-performance bikes.
She also discusses her experience at Boeing, using social media to promote herself and her sponsors, including Ku Cycle, Active Iron, The Hub and Roca Sports Ireland and her future aspirations in the world of triathlons, including doing her first full Ironman distance this upcoming weekend in Sweden and heading to the World Championships in New Zealand at the end of the year.
