To say that The Fast and Furious is one of cinema's most successful franchises would be an understatement. It has grossed over a billion dollars worldwide, and has generated clout for so many people involved. From Justin Lin to James Wan to Rob Cohen, people have come in and made the cars go really fast, which in turn have made people show up in droves. But how did this franchise get to be so successful? And does it deserve the drubbing critics give the majority of its films? Join Matt, myself, and Alyx as we watch the franchise in order, and they have (force?) me to watch a lot of these with fresh eyes.It must have felt weird to have felt like you blinked, and then it being 2013, 12 years after the first Fast & Furious film. But, times have changed our favorite familia. They're agents now, and Hobbs tracks them down after their heist from the last film to once again fulfill their obligation to the country. Because when the country is on the line, small time street racers are who you call!Well we have come upon it. The movie I was not looking forward to review. Because the one time I had seen it, I had a pretty visceral reaction to it. But I have enjoyed going through this series with Alyx and Matt, and honestly, I had remembered nary a thing about it.
