When I originally setup the show I thought it would be important for people to hear David discuss this subject matter. We hear a lot about raw food, the paleo diet, the primal diet, super foods, herbs, supplements and so on but we never really get to hear people speak about the motivation it takes to live this kind of lifestyle.
When you're with all your friends at a restaurant, and they're ordering all manner of hideosly unhealthy "food" (if you want to call it that) what do you do? Do you go along with the crowd and abuse your body they way they are? Or do you order the healthiest thing they have like perhaps some grass fed meat or just a salad and wait for them to question you about it?
We've all been there. I know I have. Or what do you do when your family has candy and cake at home and you're all by yourself with nothing healthy to eat in the house? Do you discipline yourself to go without or go to the health food store....or do you eat 4 pieces of chocolate cake since nobody is around to hold you accountable? We've all been there.
I wanted to talk about self worth today in this show and I wanted to talk to David about how we look at food, and how to really love ourselves enough to only eat the best possible food.
Many of us are dealing with food addictions and we crave food that's not good for us. I wanted to discuss the topic of success in this show because it's the underlying factor in how we treat ourselves.
We have to WANT to eat well for the right reasons. What are the right reasons you might ask? Well they vary from person to person. I want to eat well for many reasons. Here are a few I came up with. I want to eat well so I can live a long life and accomplish the work I'm here to do. I don't want to deal with disease for the last 10 years of my life. I want to live with passion and energy to have fun the entire time I'm alive. I could list a million reasons why I want to eat well.
If I wanted to eat well simply to get 6 pack abs, what happens when I'm craving cancer causing food and I actually have 6 packs abs? No reason to eat well right? I've already reached my outward goal that's focused on the physical body which isn't even us.
Eating well and taking care of yourself has to be a deep issue and something we all answer in our own way.
I hope this interview with David Wolfe was enlightening and entertaining.
