Bitwise Asset Management's European head, Bradley Duke, speaks with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about Bitwise's acquisition of ETC Group, which he co-founded, and the strategic vision for the combined entity.
Duke shared insights on how the two companies, which have operated in distinct geographies, will now leverage their complementary strengths. With Bitwise focusing on the US market and ETC Group's strong presence in Europe, the merger is expected to create one of the largest global pure-play digital asset managers, managing $4.5 billion in assets.
Duke highlighted the exciting prospects of cross-selling opportunities and the potential for introducing innovative products in Europe that are currently not available in the US, such as staking products and cryptocurrency baskets. Despite the farewell to the ETC Group brand, Duke emphasised that the Bitwise brand will continue to offer high-quality, innovative digital asset products.
"Bitwise has got such a great brand, they've got such a well-known and respected team," said Duke, expressing optimism about the future under Bitwise.
