In 1988, Michael Mickey and Trudy Thompson were gunned down outside their home in Bradbury, California. The case remained unsolved until 2001 when Michael Goodwin, Mickey's former business partner, was charged with the murders. Goodwin and his wife had bought gold and wired money to offshore accounts before leaving on their yacht. Goodwin was eventually found guilty and sentenced to two consecutive life sentences. The conversation also touches on murder by proxy, conspiracy to commit murder, and the importance of having a lawyer.
