Oriole Resources PLC (AIM:ORR) CEO Martin Rosser talked with Proactive about the initial trenching results from the Mbe licence MB01-N sub-prospect, part of its phase one exploration program.
Rosser detailed significant findings from the first three trenches, including a highlight of 50 meters grading at 1.1 grams per tonne with a 20-meter zone at 2.2 grams per tonne in Trench One. Trench Three also yielded promising results with 68 meters grading at 0.77 grams per tonne.
Rosser emphasised the strong correlation between the previously reported soil anomalies and the trenching outcomes, noting that these results give the company a deeper understanding of the prospect's potential. However, he cautioned that while the trenching results are encouraging, they should not be directly extrapolated to depth due to grade depletion near the surface.
Looking ahead, Rosser discussed the next steps, including more trenching at the Mbe South Prospect, which he described as having a larger areal extent and more robust grade distribution. These upcoming results will guide the planning for the 2024-2025 drilling season.
