Standard Uranium Vice President of Exploration Sean Hillacre joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce the successful completion of drilling activities at the company’s Sun Dog Uranium Project, located in northwestern Saskatchewan, Canada.
The program was specifically designed to test the newly identified Wishbone target area, where the company aims to discover high-grade, basement-hosted uranium deposits characteristic of the Athabasca Basin. Hillacre reported that a total of 1,593 meters were drilled across eight holes, with a focus on shallow, high-grade basement-hosted uranium mineralization at the Wishbone target.
Encouragingly, seven of the eight drill holes intersected intervals of anomalous radioactivity exceeding 300 counts per second (cps), reinforcing the company’s exploration model. The results offer promising proof of concept, and Standard Uranium is already planning additional geophysical surveys and further drilling to refine their targeting and move closer to a potential high-grade discovery in the area.
