Andrada Mining Ltd (AIM:ATM, OTC:AFTTF) head of exploration Tim Marais spoke to Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company's initial drilling results from the Brandberg West license in Namibia. According to Marais, these results highlight the potential for high-grade tin, tungsten, and copper in closely stacked quartz veins.
"While we have these high-grade veins, we could leverage this and do large opencast mining, but still feed the plant with a really high-grade material that's been sorted by modern technology," Marais stated. The Brandberg West project complements Andrada’s critical minerals strategy, which also includes a recent lithium partnership with SQM. Marais emphasised that while the metals differ, they all contribute to a broader critical minerals basket.
He further detailed the company's plan to utilise both traditional gravity separation and modern ore sorting technologies to concentrate the extracted minerals, outlining a roadmap for future development. Marais also hinted at further updates, including the next batch of drill results from Brandberg West and the continued progress on the SQM partnership, which is in the evaluation phase.
