CleanTech Lithium PLC (AIM:CTL, OTCQX:CTLHF) executive chairman Dr Steve Kesler takes Proactive's Stephen Gunnion through the company's latest advancements in its Laguna Verde project, following significant news from the Chilean government. The project has been prioritised under Chile's special lithium operating contract (CEOL) process, positioning CleanTech Lithium as a frontrunner in the region.
Kesler explained, “We’re now in a very good position for our shareholders... there’s a clear line of sight for the obtaining of the CEOL,” outlining how the company's strong community ties, established mining licenses, and unique technological approach have placed it ahead in securing the contract. CleanTech Lithium aims to begin production by 2027, making it potentially the first private-sector lithium producer in Chile.
With the Chilean government’s plans to increase lithium output by 70% by 2030, CleanTech Lithium’s Laguna Verde is set to play a pivotal role in the nation’s energy transition. The company also highlighted its commitment to environmental sustainability, utilising Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) technology to minimise water usage, ensuring community support.
