Solely relying on one's understanding may be influenced by worldly thinking. Instead, believers should seek out mature believers who have fruit in the area where guidance is needed. As Proverbs 19:20 states, "Hear counsel and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end."

Christians have the responsibility not only to seek godly counsel but also to become wise counselors. As believers mature in their faith, they should be able to help each other discern God's voice and offer sound, scripture-based advice to others, always pointing them toward God's will.
