The question is when you face yourself it is not always a pretty scene and how to avoid getting in the muck again? Why not be a pigeon and close your eyes and think that the cat is not going to get me? First time you face, it could be disturbing. It could even give you a sense of disbelief that it wasn’t me. And when you start to get into the acceptance mode, you will come out with justifications that I did it because of this or because of that and so on and so forth. Then when you face the third time or the fourth time or the fifth time, you will start to see that No, I did it because I chose it that way. It does not mean that it was a completely independent choice but there was still an element of choice.
When you keep facing your past unwanted actions which you think are demons will eventually become your friends in the sense that you start to accept them in a way that they don’t bother you anymore. Remember they are from the past. They are those skeletons in the closet. It is all old stuff.
