The fourth virtue is detachment. To let go of something is giving up. Detachment is when you are neither happy nor sad if you have something or don’t. It is the emotion that we will be persistent in our path of what we are doing and if something happens it is okay and if does not then that is okay too. We should not worry about something that is not in our control. Detachment is to understand what is in our hands and what is not in our hands. So, I should do what is in my hand. For example, I can plant the seed, water it and put some nutrients but I do not have control over when the plant will grow or become a tree. It is not in my hands that the plant will grow the way I want it or in the time I want it. It will grow on its own.
Detachment is you are in the emotion of vairagya or non-attachment. Everyone should try to inculcate some detachment in life.
