The question asked here is what is the evidence of God’s existence and if at the time of death one feels that they did not do certain karmas only because of the fear of God then is it right or wrong? Someone once asked Dalai Lama why do you meditate? Dalai Lama answered that my religion says that there is life after death. I meditate so that when I am born next, my birth is a good birth. He further said that even if we were to assume that what my religion says is not right then also there is nothing wrong in meditating. It is not a bad thing to do. It has no harmful side effects on your health. So, I meditate because I feel there is no harm in meditating.
Let’s start with the assumption that the there is no proof of God’s existence. There are many similes to prove the existence of god but in all that argument it is hard to get to a conclusion. And for someone who questions God’s existence, the God does not exist for him. So let’s assume there is no God. Whatever good or bad karma you do is your own reaction. It is up to you to choose your karma. You do it for yourself. There is absolutely no denial that you feel happy and joyous when you do a good karma.
