Episode 28: "King of the Ring 1998" / "Raw" Mega-Episode! (w/Adam from The Rundown)

June 28th / 29th, 1998: So many noteworthy moments happened at "King of the Ring 1998" and the "Raw" afterwards that we had to have Adam from The Rundown Wrestling Podcast join the show to help break it all down! "King of the Ring 1998" Card: WWF Champion "Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs. Kane in a First Blood Match (if Kane loses, he must set himself on fire) The Undertaker vs. Mankind in a Hell in a Cell Match (we go in-depth on this one!) Ken Shamrock vs. Jeff Jarrett / The Rock vs. Dan Severn, with the winners facing each other in the finals of the King of the Ring tournament WWF Tag Team Champions The New Age Outlaws vs. The New Midnight Express Owen Hart vs. X-Pac Al Snow & Head vs. Too Much w/special guest referee Jerry "The King" Lawler (if Al wins he gets a meeting with Vince McMahon, but if he loses he is gone from the WWF) The Headbangers & Taka Michinoku vs. Kaientai June 29th, 1998 "Monday Night Raw": With last night's First Blood Match ending in suspicious circumstances, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin requests a rematch against Kane for the WWF Title...... and The Big Red Machine surprisingly accepts! The WWF debuts a brand new, ill-advised tournament of legitimate fights called The Brawl For All, and our first two contests are Steve Blackman vs. Marc Mero and Bradshaw vs. Mark Canterbury. We get a Triple Threat "King of Kings Match" between reigning King of the Ring Ken Shamrock and former Kings of the Ring Triple-H and Owen Hart (spoiler: despite it being called "King of Kings," the winner of the match may not be who you think!). Darren Drozdov goes one-on-one against a man making his WWF debut: Steven Regal! L.O.D. 2000 seek to reverse their losing streak by bringing back their long-time manager "Precious" Paul Ellering, but their mentor has an unexpected surprise for them. Val Venis takes on Kaientai member Dick Togo, although Val appears to be more interested in Yamaguchi-San's wife. Plus, Vince McMahon gives a warning to The Undertaker, Dustin Runnels continues to preach the word of God, and Sable refuses to tell us about her new role in the company. Enjoying the Podcast?
