Increasing numbers of men and women are becoming first time parents in their 40s, 50s and 60s. How is that working out? Medical technology and adoption have made age irrelevant. Meet Cyma Shapiro, 58, the writer/creator of NURTURE: Stories of New Midlife Mothers, the first art gallery show dedicated to women choosing motherhood over 40, and the blog www.MotheringintheMiddle.com for all-things midlife mothers and fathers. She is also the editor/creator of the anthology, The Zen of Midlife Mothering, also featuring the essays of midlife mothers and fathers. A Huffington Post contributor whose work has been featured on NPR and on Psychology Today (online), Cyma is passionate about supporting men and women who choose later parenthood and giving them a face, voice, and forum. In her most recent venture, as contemporary lifestyle talk show host (forwomenoverforty.com), she investigates anything and everything of interest to those in midlife! She is the mother of 11 and 13 year old children and 30 and 31-year-old stepchildren.
