Brenda Tate, a community volunteer serving as President and Founder of the Women’s Foundation of Southwest Florida, joins Heather this week to discuss her lifetime of service in dedication to supporting and empowering women and especially female entrepreneurs. From her own time as a young single mom, Brenda has felt a passion and drive to help other women capitalize on opportunities and create them when they don’t appear.
As a co-Chair of the Florida Women’s Funding Alliance, an affinity group of Florida Philanthropic Network, a member of Women Moving Millions and Prosperity Together, as well as her work behind the scenes to create strategic alliances and partnerships by fostering effective collaboration to get the job done, Brenda is putting her passion in action, and changing lives in the process.
In Southwest Florida, 34% of small businesses are owned by women, Brenda and the organizations she’s founded and joined are working to both increase the number of female entrepreneurs in the area, but also increase the economic clout and grow the businesses of those that are already at work!
