Reel Politik, Episode 22 - The Red and the Blue

In the new Reel Politik, strap on your seatbelts as Tom and Jack take you on a long, rambling (politically rambling) dissection of Ken Loach’s 1983 documentary The Red and the Blue, which documents and contrasts the Labour and Conservative Party conferences of October 1982 (not 1983, as Tom originally says, although that was when the film aired.) It was recorded in two sessions, due to issues of competence in the first recording. As with any episode of the show, there are innumerable diversions – scores are settled with our critics and the assorted snakes, slugs and toads undermining what is good and right (socialism), smoke is blown up the arse of the magnificent Tom Gann, the results of the first round of the French presidential elections are commiserated, and we present an exclusive reading from one of our favourite centrist blogs. And finally, we ask, has Tony Benn now been usurped as the best Benn of them all?
