**Homeschool Science Tip - Do a few holiday-themed science projects!**
Our tree is up. The house is decorated for Christmas. It's a tradition in my family to decorate just after Thanksgiving - that way we can enjoy the trimmings for the whole month of December!
We have another tradition, one that has to do with our homeschool plans. We not only spread holiday cheer throughout our home, we sprinkle a little throughout our lessons. Our math is Christmas themed. Our art and music are holiday-related. And we always read-aloud The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!
Our kids like the change of pace, but more than that they love the holiday-themed science projects we do! Here are a few of our favorites from the past:
>Creating Borax Snowflakes (We like to decorate our tree with these after we are done.)
>Making Indoor Snow (Buy lots of cornstarch and shaving cream for this as your kids will want you to do it again and again and again...)
>Dissolving Candy Canes (The possibilities for this one are endless, one box of mini-candy canes may not be enough.)
Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, I trust you will enjoy trying out these activities this December as much as we do!
