This game was earned in blood. While the offense continues to rev and show (but not for 60 minutes yet) its stratospheric potential the defense overcame a near mortal wound in the loss of Ryan Shazier in the first series of the game.
We still don't know Ryan's fate. Forgetting about how his loss will affect the team, we just pray for his complete recovery. The defense was further thinned out by the loss of Tyler Matakevich. We'll also be without the service of JuJu Smith-Schuster due to his one-game suspension for his crack-back block of Vontaze Burfect followed by the taunting call he received for standing menacingly over Burfect's prone body.
Nick and Tom talk about the NFL's adjudication of these transgressions and the need for consistent application of these penalties.
There's plenty more to hear on the show including our positional grades.
