Merry Christmas! We hope you all enjoyed time with your family over the past few days.... and a Merry Christmas it was with the Steelers making quick work of the beleaguered Houston Texans, 34 to 6.
This is a special episode since Nick was able to sneak out of Houston to join us in the Washington DC outpost. Unfortunately, no one is manning the fort back in Texas, so we're doing a truncated show because we have to get Nick to the airport in a few minutes to catch a flight.
While this was a dominant performance, this game (once again) revealed a significant chink in the Steeler's defensive armor. The Texans, led by 3rd and 4th string QB's, gashed the Black and Gold for 176 yards rushing.
When you consider that Houston completed two passes for a total of 8 yards in the first half, things come into perspective. Even without concern for damage coming through the air, the Steelers (Keith Butler?) couldn't stop the dam burst on the ground.
We'd like to hope that this experience will result in some adjustments next week, except that this has been a story all year. Let's hope that this week's offensive performance continues against Cleveland next week and that we get AB back for the playoffs. With the offensive armamentarium fully stocked, we still have a chance to outscore any team in this league.
