Geektown Radio 143: ‘The Tale’ Composer Ariel Marx, UK TV News & UK TV Air Dates!
On Geektown Radio this week we have all the usual tv news and air date information, but also another first for us, as, incredibly, we interview our first female composer, Ariel Marx.
Ariel is the composer of ‘The Tale’, which premiered at Sundance this weekend to huge success, landing the first standing ovation at the festival. The film follows an investigation into one woman's memory as she is forced to re-examine her first sexual relationship and the stories we tell ourselves in order to survive.
The film stars recent Emmy winner, Laura Dern, Jason Ritter and Common, and has been called "thought-provoking and thoroughly compelling" by The Hollywood Reporter, "the mother of all #MeToo movies" by The Guardian, and racked up a slew of 5 star reviews across the board.
Ariel is among very few female composers, so we also discusses her experience as a female composer in a very male-dominated industry and how ‘The Tale’ is a meaningful and timely story, which is enhanced by her score.
